I figured you might know this: why is it that Humanoids can't do English translations of certain Moebius works? Right now they're selling some leftover French editions of Arzach. It's bad enough that most of this stuff is pricey, but the fact that I can't even read it even if I ponied up that quiche is aggravating.
The thing is, most of the American rights to Moebius’ work are controlled by the Giraud family, meaning his wife Isabel, and his children, not by Humanoids Inc. This all has to do with legal battles between Moebius and the Lofficiers in 2001, that ended with the dissolution of Starwatcher Graphics. New editions/translations of anything written and drawn by Moebius and, I believe, the entire Blueberry series, will only happen when the Giraud family strike a deal with a publisher.
What Humanoids do own though, are the works of Alejandro Jodorowsky. That’s why the only Moebius books they’ve been publishing are collaborations with Jodo, and they’ve put out all but one. All that’s left is Après l’Incal: Le Nouveau Rêve, which has never been translated to English.
