This piece is Brandon Graham’s entry. Brandon does amazing work, I am a huge fan of his book King City, and I can’t wait to see more of his Multiple Warheads series. Also, he’s been posting some very endearing diaries at The Comics Journal.

So yeah, all the Apple Pie Covers I know of are up here now. Just click on the ‘covers’ tag to see them all, or the ‘the apple pie’ tag to see them plus the original strip by Moeb.

I linked to a few of the “Apple Pie Covers” without actually posting them. Nuts to that I say, especially because they are from two of my favorite dudes in comics right now. First up is Corey “The Reyyy” Lewis. If you haven’t seen his book Sharknife, or his kickball epic Peng, you’re missing out on a lot of fun.

Since I already broke my very loose ‘no nudity bewteen 9 & 5’ rule, here’s another Apple Pie cover, by Hillary Kelly.

The Apple Pie - demon version ( NSFW OH GOSH NSFW )

A while back, Brandon Graham posted a panel of a Moebius comic that he and Paul Pope and Corey Lewis and Joel Carroll and I’m certain a slew of other artists had redrawn as an exercise.

And so, I redrew it, too.

This might’ve been the last ‘hurrah’ from my current brush.  Poor guy, it’s been fun.

Remember that post about Paul Pope covering a Moebius panel? Apparently this has turned into a meme, with some fantastic artists throwing in their two cents. The above “remix” was done by Ronald Wimberly, aka D(pi). Also taking part are the amazing Brandon Graham(who I noticed has linked to this tumblr before), and sugar-shock-in-human-form Corey “The Reyyy” Lewis.

I’d like to see this meme kickstarted again, wouldn’t you? If any artists out there want to do a cover of the Apple Pie panel and submit it to this tumblr, I will post them and credit you. Above are links to some previous examples. I just found this, by artist Joel Carroll, and I will reblog if I find them elsewhere on tumblr. Have fun. Be creative. Fair warning though: this scene in Moeb’s strip was and still is a bit shocking. I don’t disagree with it morally, but that has a lot to do with what I perceived to be Moebius’ intentions, as well as those of the magazine Ah! Nana, where it first appeared. So basically, just know that your submission may not get put up here if it looks too much like child pornography to me. Again, that’ll be my subjective judgment call.

If this is successful(good submissions, people liking them, etc), I’ll most likely do it again with a panel of my choosing.

P.S. To try and keep things neat and tidy for everyone tumbling at their workplace, I will only post these submissions at night. Something like, between 6pm and 2am.
